Ken and I finally after 18 years went out side the US again for some international travel. We didn’t go to an easy place like England or a place that was comfortable for us to understand. Ken read a book about a man working his way up through the caste system in India. Which interested him in seeing the area. I personal had interest also in going, but that part of the world wasn’t on the first few places to go to.
We looked at a few videos on YouTube and both of us agreed we wanted to go. Although we felt going on our own may not be as enjoyable. So I looked at a company we had used in the past Gate 1 Travel. We used them for our Italy trip, but it was an independent tour. They arranged the hotels, trains and plane ride over. We were on our own for our daily tours. I had no ideal how we would enjoy a group tour. We both decided to try them for this tour.
We looked on their website and saw the 12 day Golden Triangle of India with Nepal. We booked this tour. Then later on we decided to stay a few days in Doha, Qatar because our flight was going to be laying over there. Instead of staying for 5 hours, we stayed for two full days.
India is one of those places I think people need to go at least once. It’s a BIG country so picking one area to go is hard. We choose the Golden Triangle and Nepal as those places Ken and I have always wanted to see. So that is the tour we picked.
Our tour guide was great. We had two Davinder was our guided for the whole tour. We had another one Ben for Nepal. Both were great and knew the area well. It was easy and relaxing to have someone take care of a lot of the logistics involved. We plan to do more trips this way.
