Ken and I normally do a few vacations a year. Not always big ones, but we like to travel and make it a point to do so. I figure waiting to put traveling off to you retire is a dumb ideal. I think people need to take a break from work and day to day things. I don’t consider my life bad at all and don’t think of vacations as “to get away” from a bad job or life. I have neither a bad job or life. But its nice to have an change in environment.
But in 2008 I would have to say was not easy for us. At the beginning of the year we took off 3 months for my husband to do something that was important to us. So we had no income coming in, but did have money set aside for that. But then my husband lost some money in an investment company he was apart of, and to top it off construction slowed down and engineering also did the same thing.
But we are doing better now.. Our engineering business has pick up a lot. Our construction company is still a little slow, but not doing bad at all. So we are doing good on that front. The last vacation we took was in August 07. We haven’t done anything since. We both are ready to do something. So we hope to do a “little” cruise soon and probably a 7 day one in Sept. maybe with some family members. So I’m looking forward to that. It will be good to getaway and have some fun and not think about work at all.
I’m looking forward to 2009 for some vacation time…
